I decided to try at a print which involves curves and thus hanging edges enough to just stick to the previous layer to test out the efficiency of the machine. I saw that this pyramid (made by 3dprinterbot on thingiverse) was a good way to calibrate the stringing which occurs when the print head moves from one object across mid air to another. Yay Alhumdulillah my first print actually printed. Even though it started to slide over to the left, this is a good starting point to troubleshoot further. Problem: X axis is slipping when it moves towards the left. This caused the print (which is really not a print) to be shifted to the left every turn. Solution: This was an issue of the belt rubbing against the washers at the edges of the X axis. I reduced the washers until the belt… [Read more…]
